Marketing & Innovation Manager
George C. Moore Co.

    • Introduce yourself to our audience. Tell us who you are and what you are currently focused on.
I am the Marketing & Innovation Manager for George C. Moore Company, a leading manufacturer of woven and knitted narrow elastic fabric products for underwear, intimate apparel, sportswear, orthopedic and medical soft goods, among many other applications.
    • We'd love to hear more about your career path. What led you to where you are today?
I was born in El Salvador, but ever since I was 8 years old I have been exposed to many different cultures because I lived with my family in the United States for several years and I have had the opportunity to travel to more than 20 different countries. This taught me to be more tolerant and to appreciate the uniqueness in everyone and specially the uniqueness of my home country, El Salvador. I studied Economics and Business Administration at Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios (ESEN) and obtained a Master in Business Administration degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC). I joined George C. Moore in 2010 after coming from the public sector where I had the privilege of working for the first woman elected Vice President of El Salvador and who was in charge of leading efforts to attract foreign investment and promoting Salvadoran exports. It was while working in the public sector that I first learned about the specific challenges and opportunities the textile and apparel industry faced not only in Central America but globally.
    • What advice would you offer future leading ladies wishing to break into the industry?
Collaborate, reach out, network! If you enjoy feeling challenged, join our industry! You will not regret working for an industry that is highly competitive and that is led by ever-changing consumer demands and trends.
    • What is the best career advice you ever received?
There is always something good in everyone.
