2023 NY Regional Meeting

Our NY Regional on April 20th, 2023 was terrific, although it was more a min-AAPN conference than a true regional meeting based on the caliber of speakers, attendees and content.

Daniella Ambrogi and Paul Magel at CGS REALLY gave us a terrific location and set up for our typical interaction. Their office is literally across the street from the 9/11 memorial and museum and is a beautiful space - we can't wait to host there again in 2024!

Lynsey Jones opened by introducing herself and everyone attending, it was her first meeting opening! Our program consisted of the following agenda & speakers, presentations and quick summaries are below each for your reference:

  • Welcome & Opening Comments; CGS Supply Chain and Technology Trends Report: Paul Magel, CGS 
    • Paul presented the findings from the CGS 2023 Supply Chain Trend Report - covering in detail the need for Supply Chain visibility, Automation advances to offset rising labor costs, furthering competitiveness through technology investments and keeping an eye on cyber security. Find Paul's presentation linked HERE
  • Creating A New Role: Head of Net Zero Delivery & Innovation: Scott Donachie, CEO & Founder of Companies for Net Zero
    • A new type of leader is needed in order to progress on the quest for net zero: Head of Net Zero Delivery and Innovation, which IKEA and Heineken already possess. He shared the who, what and why of this position in order to accomplish the how. Find Scott's presentation linked HERE 
  • The Workers’ Path to Circularity: Sarah Krasley CEO of Shimmy Technologies & Berkley A. Rothmeier, Director of Consumer Sections at Business for Social Responsibility (BSR)
    • Focused on the workers' place in the circularity model and how jobs will be changing in the future according to various scenarios - the information was augmented by BSR's work on each of the scenarios and guidance on how to gage where individual companies stack up.   • Textiles and Apparel Government Update:Jennifer Knight, Deputy Assistant Secretary at OTEXA
    • Jennifer gave a great overview of her new position, trade agreements and trade data impacting Textiles and Apparel. Find Jennifer's presentation linked HERE
  • Roundtable Discussion & Connecting of the Dots: Mike Todaro, Managing Director at AAPN
