Gribbin of Alvanon to transition to senior advisor role with firm

Ed GribbinMERION STATION, Pa. – After 12 years with Alvanon, including seven as president, apparel veteran Ed Gribbin will transition to a new role as senior advisor to the leadership team.

He will remain president until March 31, when he will officially launch Gribbin Strategic, his new boutique consultancy firm. Gribbin will remain a part of Alvanon in a new role as senior advisor to the leadership team

"Alvanon has undergone an incredible transformation since 2006 and Ed has been instrumental to the company's success in that period," said Alvanon chief executive Janice Wang. "Ed proved pivotal in transforming Alvanon from the industry's leading provider of technical fit forms to a global innovations company shaping the future of fit. We're excited to have him stay on as senior advisor and wish him continued success in his next venture."

"The last 12 years working with the Wang family, our team of recognized industry experts and our wonderful clients have been the most fulfilling in my career," said Gribbin. "I feel like I have another chapter to write, though, so I am starting Gribbin Strategic to address the needs of any company struggling to grow, compete or even survive in this rapidly changing world."

Gribbin will continue to serve on numerous industry boards on behalf of Alvanon, including the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA); the International Apparel Federation (IAF); SPESA (Sewn Products Equipment & Suppliers of the Americas); AAPN (Americas Apparel Producers Network); the University of Delaware's Fashion Studies Advisory Council; and The Robin Report.

He brings 40 years of apparel industry experience to Gribbin Strategic LLC, covering nearly every discipline, including design, merchandising, product development, manufacturing and sourcing, marketing, sales and strategic planning. The new venture will offer services in the areas of growth strategy, business development, marketing and brand building, organizational transformation and supply chain to retailers, brands, manufacturers and industry suppliers.

He used the data collected to provide consumers with optimal size and fit recommendations while helping brands and retailers establish the most effective and profitable fit strategies.

Alvanon was founded in 2001 when it developed a unique and innovative data-driven approach to solving the challenges of sizing and fit inherent in the apparel industry. Since that time, it has evolved into a global company using the latest innovations and technologies to shape the future of fit. Advising the world's leading apparel organizations on how to align their internal teams, processes and supply chains; more intimately engage their existing and target customers; and innovate to optimize profitability and achieve their growth objectives.
